GCE/ IAL (A Levels)
The General Certificate of Education (GCE) is an internationally recognized secondary school qualification for students (typically aged 17 to 19) entering universities. GCE is also known as A Levels, which stands for Advanced Level. Candidates may take the GCE at the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) or Advanced (A) Levels, depending on the course they intend to follow. Students typically take GCE in Year 10-11 and AS/A Level exams in Year 12-13.
Edexcel's International Advanced Level (IAL) is an international alternative to A level qualifications from Edexcel's Ofqual (the regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England). The Edexcel International AS qualifications contain half the content of an International Advanced Level. Learners can either study IAL as a stand-alone qualification or as a stage on the way to completing an Advanced Level.
